Per the wording on page 16 of the Elementary Handbook-

“We consider many factors when forming classes for the coming year: learning style of students, balance of boys/girls, student dynamics, mixed academic ability of students, and class size/student numbers. Requests will be considered based on the student’s academic/learning needs, not for a specific teacher.”

How to Obtain Internet Service

If your family does not have access to reliable high speed internet service, below is a resource that may help you obtain this service:

  • Comcast: The company is offering Internet Essentials as an affordable way for homes who receive public assistance to get online. The plan is available for about $10 per month. In addition, they are increasing speeds for all customers in response to emergency measures associated with the coronavirus, and new customers receive two months free.

Free Universal Breakfast

Starting on Monday, February 3rd, all students are welcome to eat breakfast at Sonoma for free! We encourage you to take advantage of this new program, brought to you by the Harper Creek Board of Education. 

Breakfast Starts at 8:20am
Students head to classrooms starting at 8:35am
Breakfast is Served until 9:00am

Student Attendance

Please remember to call 269.441.7805 if your child is going to be absent from school. This is a 24-hour message service. Please leave your student's name and reason for absence, as well as any message.

Attendance Hotline- The attendance hotline number is a misprint on the calendar magnet the correct number is 269-441-7805.

‌Santa's Shop Shopping Days are Monday December 16th and Tuesday December 17th.  Teachers should post when their class is shopping.  We are still looking for a few more volunteers if you are able to help please contact the  main office.

‌PTA sponsored Reflections Program is due January 6th, 2020. This year no late entries will be accepted.  This is a voluntary program focusing on the arts.  Entry forms have come home, but are also in the office and available upon request.  PTA is on Tuesday December 17th at 6PM in the Sonoma Library if you have direct questions.

‌If you have not already done so, please pick up your fundraising items from the main office.

‌Holiday Celebrations are different in every classroom.  Please contact your child's teacher for specific information.

‌The Watchdog calendar is posted in the office.  If you have filled out the registration form and have a current volunteer from on file you can call or stop in to register for a day.

‌REMINDER: No medications can be administered at school with out the proper forms signed bu a doctor.  This includes cough drops, and ALL prescription and non-prescription medications.  If you have questions please call the main office.

All of us can be the eyes and ears of the community and ensure that our children are safe. I encourage everyone—students, staff, parents, and community members— to report potentially harmful or criminal acts using OK2SAY.
